  • Holiday Flower Show
    December 5 – January 18, 2010 
    Orange Spice, Peppermint Twist, Eggnog, Visions of Grandeur and Winter Blush will give the Sunken Garden a warm glow.  Rieger Begonias in orange, blush pink, warm creamy yellow, cinnamon, accented with yellow/orange will also be on display.  Closed 1/19 –1/29 for show change

  • Holiday Tea
    December 11         11am & 2pm
    Leave the cool weather outside and delight in an afternoon garden tea service in the beautiful Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. Guests will dine on a 5 course traditional tea service and receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the Conservatory. Tickets cost $45. Space is limited and reservations are required by calling 651-487-8250.

    January 23 & 24      10am – 4pmHundreds of orchid plants transform the MMC into a tropical wonderland for the Orchid Socienty of MN’s Winter Carnival Orchid Show.

Current Events

  • Fall Flower Show Begins October 10
    Delight in chrysanthemums in shades of purple, pink and yellow in early fall. Then, watch them transition to shades of maroon, copper and gold in late fall. Swiss chard and ornamental peppers serve as interesting accents. The show runs through November 29th and the Sunken Garden will be closed 11/2–11/6 & 11/30–12/4 for show change

  • Daily Interpretive Talks

    Daily at 1:30pm Gardener Talk

    Meet the Keepers and Gardeners! Everyday a different topic will be featured and guests will learn about the day to day operations of running Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. Learn about the animals and plants and how they are cared for, plus guests can ask questions.
