    MATERIALS LIST

PAPERS
-Sketchbook, minimum 9” X 12”
-Few sheets of quality drawing paper or Bristol board (Arches Cover is a good paper choice for both wet and dry media, or Bristol board if you like to work more technically)
-1 sheet of black quality drawing paper  - at least 18” X 24”

REQUIRED DRAWING TOOLS:
-Pencils (2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 8B)
-White pencil, white conte crayon or white charcoal*
- kneaded eraser
-pink pearl eraser
- technical drawing pen (apprx size 0 or .35 mm (Staedtler-Mars or
Alvin recommended)
-Artist's Tape or masking tape (1/2" - 3/4")

OTHER TOOLS NEEDED:
-Ruler: 12"-15", stainless steel, English (inches) and Metric (centimeters).
-X-acto knife (w/case, sheath, or retractable)*
- scissors

OPTIONAL ITEMS (Try to bring a selection)
colored pencils, small set of soft or oil pastels (your choice); Vine Charcoal (soft, several thin sticks), Compressed Charcoal Stick and Compressed Charcoal pencils (HB & 4B); Crowquill or Hawkquill points (try Hunt's Finest and long-point) with appropriate holder* (Optional: Bamboo (Reed) dip pen, if you like more "primitive" tools); other media you would like to work with

OPTIONAL INKS/BRUSHES:
-Black waterproof ink: Kohinoor Ultradraw, 3085-F or Universal, 3085
-OR- Walnut ink (Wet Paint)
-Watercolor brush, round, size 4 - 6; OR
Chinese/Japanese brushes: natural hairs; sm-med (use w/non-waterproof ink).*
-Watercolor brush, flat or round, Synthetic (Nylon) hair (for waterproof
inks, etc.)
