Materials:

Watercolors
Daniel Smith, Holbien, Schminke, Winsor Newton or M. Graham are all acceptable paint brands:

Cadmium Yellow Lemon (cool)
Cadmium Yellow Pale (warm)
Ultramarine Light (cool)
Manganese Blue(warm)
Permanent Carmine (cool)
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
Cadmium Red Light (warm)
Titanium White
Viridian (green)
Opera (pink)


Watercolor Brushes:
One each of #3, #8 and #14 Richeson round brushes and one 1” flat brush

Paper:
Watercolor cold press paper pad between 20" x 16" and 12" x 9". (You decide if you want to paint BIG or small. If in doubt, buy somewhere in the middle of those sizes) It is helpful if all edges of the pad are glued (not available with the largest size pads)
Scrap Paper for testing Colors
Sketchbook

Other:
Pencil, #2
Kneaded Eraser
Container for Water (non-glass)
Palette for mixing colors
Paper Towels
12” Ruler
Easel (can be a simple tripod easel) - with smaller paper pads students could paint in their laps while sitting on a bench, rock or grass. With larger pads an easel is essential.
