They are designed for
preschool children ages 4 and 5 and
accompanied wth an adult.
All classes include live animal
or plant visits
and/or tours.

Eggs: Who Hatches?

Bunny Hop – NEW!

Puffins on Parade

Monkey Business

Cool, Colorful Koi
What are colorful, ancient, and good luck? Japanese koi fish! May 5th is Children’s Day in Japan. Come and celebrate by meeting the many colorful koi residing at Como Park, and then create your own one-of-a-kind koi windsock.

AWESOME ANTS
Ants are awesome and they’re not all that different from people. Some ants are farmers, some ants are nannies, and some ants are aunties! Visit our leaf-cutter ant colony, learn the “ant chant”, play ant dress-up, make “ant-ennas”, and experience other creepy crawly antics. It will be F-“ANT”-ASTIC!

African Food Safari
Would you like to visit an African food market? Come on a tour of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory and discover a few of the traditional foods that African people eat such as coconut, sugar, mango, and more. Make your own tasty salad with these plant foods and then create an African cookbook of your own.

Fin-tastic Fish

Zany Zebras
What’s black and white and red all over? A zebra with a sunburn, of course! Learn about zebras as we visit the Como African Hoofed Stock Building and meet the people who care for them. Discover how these spirited animals communicate, learn why they hang out in groups and see what they eat.

Totally Turtles and Tortoises
A turtle is a reptile; its home is on its back. It never has to worry when enemies will attack. At home on land or in the water, turtles and tortoises have adapted to living almost everywhere. We will meet some shelled creatures, decorate jumbo shells, and even touch some turtle artifacts!
