Parent/child preschool classes are offered
twice a week. They are designed for
preschool children ages 4 and 5 and
accompanied wth an adult.
All classes include live animal or plant visits
and/or tours.

Outrageous Orangutans
What is orange, hairy and smart as a whip? Orangutans, of course! Join us as we meet some of Como Zoo's most popular residents. Meet a primate zookeeper, then discover what orangutans eat, learn where they live, and watch what they can do with their long arms.

Rain Forest Rhythms
Sloths, figs, frogs, and bromeliads…learn about the tropical rain forest by examining the rain forest plants and animals that live throughout Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Discover how these plants and animals affect our everyday lives. Then, make a rain forest instrument to take home!

Tricky Tracks, Trails, & Traces

Leapin’ Lemurs

Yuck & Stuff
Did you know that some plants smell like rotten meat to attract beetles? Or that leaf-cutter ants poop on leaves to grow fungus to eat? Slimy, gross, ooey, gooey and yucky stuff will be the highlight of this class. We’ll make slime, meet some disgusting plants and animals, eat a “bug,” create a grotesque craft and other yucky fun!
