Have Some Fang-Tastic Fun Volunteering
Como ZooBoo Seeks Event Volunteers
SAINT PAUL, MN (September 1, 2010) — Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is currently seeking up to 600 volunteers for its annual ZooBoo Event. Volunteers are needed each of the five nights of ZooBoo in costumed and non-costumed positions. For over 20 years, ZooBoo has offered families with even the youngest ‘ghoul’ a family friendly environment to celebrate Halloween. This spooktacular event takes the support and dedication of over 200 volunteers per night, from greeting visitors, make-up application, moving “treats”, directing traffic and even getting costumed up to entertain attendees.
Anyone over 17 is welcome to volunteer on their own. Youth ages 13-17 are required to volunteer with an adult with a one to one ratio. Volunteers can sign up for late afternoon to evening shifts and are needed to wear fun costumes provided by Como, greet and entertain young children and families, or pass out Halloween treats. Also needed are many non-costumed volunteers for event support positions. Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer.
ZooBoo is a non-scary Halloween festival for families and young children. For this unique fall event, the grounds of Como Zoo transform into a world of fairytales and fun! Live costumed characters interact and entertain children. This magical event offers families a safe trick-or-treating alternative plus many Halloween surprises. Highlights include trick-or-treating at approximately ten Treat Stations, Live Entertainment, Pumpkin Bowling, Craft Activities, 200 Costumed characters and lots of surprises.
