For the safety of our guests, animals, and botanical collections please follow these guidelines during your visit to Como Park Zoo and Conservatory:
Como Park Zoo and Conservatory is a “Smoke Free” destination. There is no smoking allowed on the grounds or in any buildings of Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Please refrain from smoking during your visit. E-Cigarettes are also prohibited from grounds.
Pets are not allowed on Zoo and Conservatory grounds. Service animals are permitted, but may cause undue stress on zoo animals. In this case, the owner may be requested to remove their service animal from a particular building, exhibit or the zoo grounds.
Bikes, in-line skates, skateboards, scooters, roller skates, shoes with wheels and motorized children’s vehicles are prohibited.
For the safety of our zoo animals no balloons of any kind are allowed to be brought onto our grounds, or in any of our buildings. Thank you for understanding this request. If you arrive with balloons you will be asked to return them to your vehicles. Laser pointers are also not allowed.
Please help keep Como Park Zoo and Conservatory clean; use trash receptacles.
Please don’t feed animals or water the plants! Be careful with the plants; flowers and foliage can be easily damaged.
Please obey signs; stay on walkways and out of fenced areas.
It’s okay to take pictures, but tripods are not allowed in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. All photographers (professional or amateur) who conduct posed photography are required to review our policy for Posed and Commercial Photography and obtain a Photography Permit
Please no food or beverages in any Zoo or Conservatory buildings.
Please help us reduce our waste by recycling your plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and milk cartons and juice boxes in our new recycling stations located throughout the Zoo and Conservatory grounds.
Lost items found on the Zoo and Conservatory grounds are taken to the Visitor Services Desk in the Visitor Center. Items are only kept for 30 days. Visitor Services may be contacted at 651-487-8201.
Items lost within Como Town are kept by Como Town staff. Como Town may be contacted at 651-487-2121.
Other policies governing Como Park (not including the areas of the Zoo and Conservatory):
The possession or consumption of alcohol is prohibited in City parks, except as designated below:
The possession and consumption of non-intoxicating malt liquor (containing not more than 3.2% alcohol by weight) is permitted from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. within the designated picnic areas in Cherokee, Como, Harriet Island, Highland and Phalen Parks, and at Rice & Arlington, McMurray and Dunning Fields. No glass beverage containers are allowed.
Fires may be started or maintained only in areas specifically designated and equipped for outdoor cooking or at a fire ring. People may, however, bring their own grill for outdoor cooking.
Please respect others and keep the noise level low.
Pets are not allowed in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, Como Zoo, and in the Visitor Center. In other areas of Como Park, pets must be licensed and on a leash no longer than six feet. Owners must be prepared to clean up after their pet.
