At Travelers Sunset Affair, guests are treated to a one-of-its-kind cocktail party complete with animal encounters, zoo keeper talks, entertainment and a great silent auction followed by dinner in the air-conditioned Visitor Center.

At The gala is scheduled for July 17th from 5:30 PM– 10:00 PM. A Patron table is $2,500, a Patron ticket is $250 and a Standard ticket is $200. Patrons will be recognized in the Sunset Affair program


What Should I Wear?

Cool Cat Casual is always in fashion at Travelers Sunset Affair, where the potential for tropical temperatures calls for light fabrics, comfortable shoes, flowing dresses, and can’t-go-wrong khakis and capris. Entertainment will take place outdoors and inside the (air-conditioned) Visitor Center, so please dress accordingly, and for comfort.


Where Do I Park?

Como Park Zoo and Conservatory will close at 3 p.m. on July 17 to prepare for Travelers Sunset Affair. When you arrive, please park in the Wolf Lot, located between Wolf Woods and Como Town, in the Palm Lot, near the Carousel, or along Midway Parkway. Golf carts driven by volunteers from Xcel Energy, our transportation sponsor, will be circulating to give guests an even speedier delivery to the event entrance.


Where Do I Enter?

 This year, the event entrance is at the Wolf Gate, located between Wolf Woods and Como Town. Volunteers will be standing by to show you the way.


Which Way to the Silent Auction?

More than 300 silent auction items and travel packages will be on display around the Large Cat outdoors exhibits. Start planning your winning bid strategy with this link to our online auction catalogue.

How Do I Start The Bidding?

 For your convenience, you can now bid on all of our cool auction items on your own smartphone through BidPal mobile bidding, which works well on all iPhones, most Windows and Android smartphones, and newer Blackberry devices.  Bidding on both the Super Silent and Silent Auction items begins at 5:30 p.m. and concludes at 8:30 p.m. Auction check-out will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the station near the Wolf Lot entrance and the Giraffe exhibit. Will There Be Dessert?

 Absolutely! After dinner, Cool Cats at Travelers Sunset Affair will be treated to a new dessert reception beginning at 8:45 p.m. on Como Commons at Gorilla Forest. Parisota Hot Club will provide musical entertainment as you enjoy assorted miniature desserts and coffee, along with a cash bar. We’ll announce the Super Silent auction winners, and you can take home your winning bids at a nearby auction check out.
